Out of Cullowee, North Carolina the Western Carolina University Marching Band will be in huge attendance, along with many others. These include The Georgia State University Marching Band out of Atlanta, Georgia, and, representing the parade themselves, the Macy’s Great American Marching Band. The floats are what many spectators of this loved affair look forward to the most, especially children. They can’t wait to see their favorite characters from movies and cartoons fly as huge balloons almost 3 stories in high in the air. Last year, Spongbob Squarepants lit up the sky as he donned his Christmas hat, signifying the holiday season. A native to New York, Spiderman was also there with his fingers in familiar web-spewing fashion.

A humungous Kermit the Frog was in laid back mode as he floated and waved at kids and parents while they cheered him on, and the Pillsbury Doughboy wasn’t far from him. The Route

Starting at the corner of 77th Street and Central Park West, the parade will move south. Then, at 59th Street, every float, band, or performer will make a left. They’ll then head down 7th and make another left at Times Square. The next turn will be a right on 6th Avenue, and everyone will continue to move south to 34th, where they’ll make one more right, and end at the corner of 7th Avenue.
