Jobs for this career field are expected to increase by 31% from 2010 to 2020. A high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement to be eligible for the medical assistant program. Two education options are primarily available. Students can choose to either earn a medical assistant certificate or an associate’s degree. You may earn a certificate for completing this training, but it may only be valid for that organization. However, it may give you some leverage when applying for your next job opportunity.
