Have an 80s Heavy Metal Birthday Party

For those of us 80s kids who are wondering how the world changed so fast on us, one of the things many of us miss the most is that unique sound of the great 80s heavy metal bands. If you have a friend who grew up listening to heavy metal 80s music and you’re looking for a fun birthday party idea, throw them a nostalgic 80s heavy metal birthday party.

Ok, so what do you think might be the most important birthday party idea for an 80s heavy metal birthday party? The music — of course! Think back to all those great heavy metal bands of old who were your favorites back in the day. If you need some help jogging your memory, here is a list to get you started: Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, Poison — you get the idea. This list could go on and on and on. There were so many great 80s heavy metal bands, there is no way to list them all. Gear up your speakers for some loud guitars and let your party get started.

For extra fun, make it into a costume party, as well. You know the look — 80s hair, blue jeans, spandex, vests, black t-shirts, leopard prints, boots, head bands, and leather jackets. Bring out the 80s jewelry, as well; crosses, skull bones, and metal studs. You will also need to get your make-up going on. You need some heavy lipstick and even heavier eyeliner.

If you want to get your dance on, don’t forget those head-banging and arm thrust moves. You could even get a little “air guitar” in there. Whether or not you can dance doesn’t matter. If you grew up loving 80s metal, this is going to be a night you can’t help but enjoy.

Keep your snacks simple and in the spirit of the 80s and heavy rock. Pizza, chips, finger foods, your favorite drinks, and nothing too elaborate. You can hire a baker to make a heavy-metal themed birthday cake if you wish. This main focus of this party is going to be the music and the costumes, so just have some fun with the food ideas and remember to keep it simple.

So, just for the day of the party, relax, get the hair spiked, and enjoy reliving some memories from days gone by. If you need some extra help with your 80s heavy metal birthday party idea, try checking out some heavy metal magazines for music, costume, and other 80s ideas.
