Navy Pier Parking: How to Find the Best Spot for Your Visit

by | Aug 4, 2023 | Parking

If you plan to visit Navy Pier, one of Chicago’s most popular attractions, you might wonder where to park your car. Navy Pier offers much, from restaurants and shops to museums and rides, but parking can be challenging. Here are some tips on how to find the best Navy Pier parking spot for your visit.

On-Site Parking Garages

Navy Pier has two on-site parking garages, West Garage, and East Garage, that accommodate 1,500 vehicles. The garages are accessible from East Grand Avenue and Illinois Street. The parking prices range from $16 to $55 per day, depending on how long you stay. You can also use the ParkChirp app to reserve your spot in advance and save money.

The garages offer free EV charging stations for electric vehicles and large parking spaces for trucks and vans. Valet parking is also available at Entrance 2, but some businesses may offer parking validation. If you’re staying at the Sable Hotel or dining at Offshore, Lirica, or Harry Caray’s, you can get discounted rates for valet parking with validation.

Off-Site Parking Garages

If you don’t mind walking a few blocks, you can find cheaper parking options at off-site parking garages near Navy Pier. You can get discounted rates with validation from the Navy Pier parking Guest Services Desk at these locations:

  • Grand Plaza Park: Located at 540 N. State St., this garage is about a 15-minute from Navy Pier. The rate is $15 with validation.
  • Ogden Plaza Self Park: Located at 300 E. North Water St., this garage is about a 10-minute from Navy Pier parking. The rate is $15 with validation.
  • Millennium Park Garage: Located at 5 S. Columbus Dr., this garage is about a 20-minute from Navy Pier. The rate is $13 with validation.

Public Transportation and Water Taxi

To avoid driving and parking, you can also take public transportation or a water taxi to Navy Pier. The CTA has several bus routes that stop at Navy Pier, such as the #29 State, #65 Grand, #66 Chicago, and #124 Navy Pier Express. You can also take the Red Line train to Grand Station and walk or take a bus.

Another option is to take the Shoreline Water Taxi from various locations along the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. The water taxi operates from May to September and offers scenic views of the city skyline. You can buy tickets online or at the dock.
